week 3
Hey everyone! Going on to week 3.... :) the Portage group left thursday and I miss them, but they accomplished a lot while they were here.... A lot of Mark and Perla's house is up... The beginning stuff is almost done, and now that the group from Chicago is here, we are hoping to complete more of the house... I have been working with a lot of different kids, and even though it's hard to communicate, there are also a lot of people who can speak English as well.... I am hoping to learn more spanish though by the time i come home... I miss everyone back home, but God is definitely at work, and it is good to see him moving in different ways here... Hey Lauren, this is Jos.... I was talking with mom today and she told me a little bit about your experience in Mexico... Lauren, I love you soo much and I can't wait till you get home and I can talk with you on Skype... Lauren, I know that things can kind of get tough when you're serving and I just wanted to remind you that God is delighted in you even when you serve him in the little ways.. I heard about a girl the other day whose job on the ship was to peel potatoes every day, for a whole year ... I thought, "wow, I could never handle that "... But, then I remembered, someone's got to do it and I also remembered that potato peeling can be just as glorifying to God as evangelizing... Lauren, I know that there will be those long days when you just feel like your doing something that is pointless... Just remember, it's not wrong to feel that way, but it's what you do with those feelings that count... I love ya Laurita... Keep serving the Lord with dedication... You only have one month left, right!!! Love ya,,, I'm praying for you, sis...
